For about four years I have been using photos as backgrounds to Powerpoint presentations for worship. Over that time it has become obvious that not every photo that’s suitable for printing makes a good background for songs and hymns.
So I started selecting and cropping photos to provide a large ‘empty’ or quiet space at the centre with the interesting sections along the base and / or sides. This means the background to the words is not too busy and distracting. The use of shaded text boxes also helps enormously.
There are even times when I shoot photos with this in mind.
